The Holy Scriptures (Bible) are made up of the New and Old Testaments. In church, we hear readings or chants from both.
The Holy Gospel is God’s good news of His gift of eternal life.
In church, we listen to the Holy Gospel with wisdom, in peace, and we receive guidance on the path to Salvation. We read the Gospels at home to strengthen these messages.
The first four books of the New Testament are known as the Gospels. These are:
To have children become familiar with the story of Noah’s Ark.
To have children become familiar with the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Also, to understand that God as well as our parents will always forgive us. We can always turn to God and our parents no matter what we have done.
To have children understand the importance of the Bible story about the Miraculous Catch of Fish.
To have children become familiar with the Parable of the Sower. Also, to understand that the only way towards salvation is to follow God’s path.
To have the children become familiar with this Bible passage and understand that God is always listening to their prayers.
